In July 1979, preparations were underway for the new school year. Announcements included in this issue included bus transportation logistics, new faculty hires, and changes to academic policy.

Newsletter, Vol. 8 [7] No. 2, 8 August 1979
This issue included the full schedule for the opening days of the 1979-1980 school year, the announcement of new faculty hires, dress code specifics, and tardiness policies. Headmaster Robert C. Goodman, Jr. added a concluding note about the re-paving of Pittaway Drive, which had obscured "art work." He emphasized that the school had not asked for or been aware of the re-paving, which was done by the City of Richmond.

In this last issue of the newsletter to parents and students before the start of the 1979-1980 school year, there were notifications of meetings, try-outs, and of administrative tasks to be completed.

Newsletter, Vol. 7 No. 4, 21 September 1979
The newsletter from Headmaster Robert C. Goodman, Jr. showed evidence of a well-established school calendar, with predictable events and traditions. In this issue, the upcoming homecoming series of events was announced. The attention given to art and music was demonstrated by the ongoing series of on-campus artwork exhibitions, and the scheduled choral concerts and festivals.

In 1979 the annual Book Fair featured four regional authors, who spoke about their recent publications. This issue of the newsletter was a lengthy one, extending to three pages. The volume of news items--which included athletics, testing dates, field trips, fundraising events, and career night--was growing as the school grew.

This issue of the newsletter, published in advance of the holiday season, included the announcement of a "new and meaningful Trinity tradition," a candlelight Christmas service, featuring the Trinity choir and local clergy.

Newsletter, Vol. 7 No. 7, 11 December 1979
Newsletters periodically included the names of recently-admitted students, who joined Trinity after the school year had begun. This issue included two such students. A group of 13 students had just returned from an exchange trip to France; they presented a program on January 10, 1980, to which parents were invited.

Newsletter, Vol. 7 No. 8, 22 January 1980
Trinity's increasing strength as an academic institution was reflected in this issue of the newsletter from January 1980. A number of students had been nominated for academic recognition outside the school. Guest speakers, sponsored by the National Honor Society and the history department, visited the campus. Trinity had a good showing at the regional mathematics contest

This issue of the newsletter from Headmaster Robert C. Goodman, Jr. included a summary of the newly-formed debate team's recent competitions and awards. Athletic successes included the boys' basketball team's 17-7 overall record and Prep League regular season title. The girls' team won the League of Independent Schools tournament title.

Exchange students from three countries--France, England, and Germany--were on campus in March 1980. Much of the text of this issue of the newsletter was dedicated to the Spring Fling, an annual fundraising event.

Newsletter, Vol. 7 No. 11, 17 April 1980
A precursor to Cabaret was held in spring 1980 when the first annual variety show was held, featuring "talented performances by members of the faculty and student body."

Newsletter, Vol. 7 No. 12, 29 April 1980
Logistics for the upcoming prom dominated this issue of the newsletter. Included were policies and guidelines for behavior and attendance, and details of an after-prom breakfast hosted by the junior class.

Newsletter, Vol. 7 No. 13, 20 May 1980
End-of-year events were listed prominently in this issue of the newsletter, as the 1979-1980 school year came to a close. At that time, there was interest in establishing an instrumental music program, and a meeting to "explore the possibilities" was scheduled for May 29.

Newsletter, Vol. 7 No. 14, 28 May 1980
Headmaster Robert C. Goodman, Jr. concluded this issue of the newsletter with a personal note thanking Trinity's parents for their support.
