Description

Newsletter, Vol. 2 No. 1, July 1974
In July 1974 Headmaster Robert C. Goodman, Jr. was happy to share in the newsletter that the classroom building was largely complete. He announced the appointment of two faculty members. A list of activities offered on Wednesdays included folk music, needlework, and advanced bridge, along with chorus, drama, debate, yearbook, and service clubs.

Newsletter, Vol. 2 No. 2, August 1974
In August 1974 Headmaster Robert C. Goodman's newsletter to parents and students was devoted to the details and logistics of preparing for the opening of the 1974-1975 school year. The primary focus was on establishing the bus routes and ridership. Four new faculty were added. The dress code was announced, and in keeping with the times, eschewed jeans or denim, facial hair for boys, and too-short skirts for girls.

Newsletter, Vol. 2 No. 3, August 1974
This second, shorter letter of August 1974 from Headmaster Robert C. Goodman, Jr. to parents and students announced the completion of the planning of bus routes for the new school year. It also announced a campus work day organized by the Patrons Association to assist in moving into the new classroom building wing and to work on the grounds. This was indicative of the extent to which parent volunteers supplemented all aspects of school life in Trinity's early years.

Newsletter, Vol. 2 No. 3, December 1974
In December 1974, much of the news in the newsletter from Headmaster Robert C. Goodman, Jr. was dedicated to college applications and acceptances for Trinity's first senior class.

Newsletter, Vol. 2 No. 4, February 1975
This issue of the newsletter from Headmaster Robert C. Goodman, Jr. to parents and students included much discussion of parent volunteer work to beautify the campus. It referenced the many hours of volunteer labor from parents and the donation of trees and bushes. Interest in college acceptances remained a priority.

Newsletter, Vol. 2 No. 5, May 1975
The final item in this issue of the newsletter from Headmaster Robert C. Goodman, Jr. to parents and students was perhaps the most important: Trinity's accreditation from the Virginia State Department of Education. Other items of note included the announcement of Trinity's first awards chapel, honoring the achievements of members of the junior and senior classes. Another important change was the increased importance of philanthropic support for the school. To that end, a "Committee of Development" (also frequently called the development committee, or the development and public relations committee) was formed. A "Spring Fling," with an auction component was planned for May 31.

Newsletter, Vol. 2 No. 5, May 1975 (Continuation)
This was the second issue of the newsletter to be mailed in May 1975. It included details of the Baccalaureate service and graduation ceremony, Trinity's first. The graduation speaker was the Honorable Mills E. Godwin, Jr., governor of Virginia.
