Description

Newsletter, Vol. 1 No. 1, July 1973
This was the first of the newlsetters Headmaster Robert C. Goodman, Jr., sent to parents and enrolled students. This issue was sent in anticipation of the opening of the 1973-1974 school year. It introduced four new faculty members, and announced the starting date of football practice (August 20). The school was wrestling with the complex logistics of bus transportation, and Goodman asked for cooperation in planning viable routes.

Newsletter, Vol. 1 No. 3, August 1973
This newsletter, mailed just before the 1973-1974 school year opened, reflected some of the growing pains of a new school. Classes were still being held in the gym while the classroom building was under construction. Students were asked to bring not only their lunches, but their milk in thermoses, and the correct change for the drink machines. Six new faculty had joined the school. Plans were in place to add a cross country program.

Newsletter, Vol. 1 No. 4, October 1973
The October 1973 issue of the newsletter mailed to students and parents focused almost entirely on the logistics of a book fair in the library.

Newsletter, Vol. 1 No. 5, November 1973
The good news in the November 1973 issue of the newsletter included a progress report on the construction of the classroom building, and positive athletic results for football, field hockey and cross country. While Headmaster Robert C. Goodman, Jr. generally dedicated the newsletters to upcoming events and action items, he often took the opportunity to share triumphs and achievements of teams or individual students.

Newsletter, Vol. 1 No. 6, December 1973
To close out calendar year 1973 in December, Headmaster Robert C. Goodman, Jr.'s newsletter to parents and students referenced the "hectic fall," in which physical plant problems caused the abandonment of a planned Christmas musical and compromised athletic practices. The formation of a Booster Club to support the athletic program was announced.
