A number of important points were raised in this letter regarding the involvement of clergy in the formation of the school. Steering Committee Chair Billy Shands, in speaking for the committee, asked for Reverend Robert H. Steilberg, rector of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, to be part of an ex-officio committee of local Episcopal clergy to work with the Steering Committee. He also dicussed the participation of the Episcopal bishop as the chief spiritual leader of the school. This letter shows how deeply the school's founders were committed to working with clergy to address the need for a "...God-oriented school."
