In this letter from Steering Committee Chair Billy Shands to Robert T. Addis, he summarized the initial Steering Committee meeting, emphazising the unanimous feeling that there was a need for "...a sound, respected Episcopal sponsored high school which will provide quality education for the children of our community." Shands kept Addis apprised of the next meeting, the upcoming agenda items, and concluded with the good news that "...we are officially a going concern as we not only have a post office box at the Bon Air Post Office in the name of 'New Episcopal High School Committee', but we also have a bank account with a black balance."
